What does AJPE stand for?
Asia-Pacific Junior & Private Education. Our descriptor is Private Education & Family Advisory; we are a brand of Magellan Global.
Which ages do you work with?
From about two, for first school choice, to seventeen, for Grade 9 and later entry to U.S. schools. Our methods change with the age: observation and play for the youngest, interviews and testing for the oldest.
Which cities?
Admissions in Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Hawaiʻi, the U.S. West Coast and New York, plus U.S. boarding schools. Memberships and debentures in Hong Kong. Programmes in Japan, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
Do you guarantee admission?
No. We improve the quality of the choice and of the application and are candid about probability. We accept no success fees.
Do you write essays or statements?
No. We coach, structure and edit. The words remain the child’s and the parents’.
Are you affiliated with schools or clubs?
No. We have no referral arrangements and do not represent any school or club. Example schools on our destination pages are listed for orientation only.
What is the difference between a debenture, a capital note and a nomination right?
See the debentures page. In short: debentures and capital notes are capital contributions carrying nomination rights, sometimes transferable; nomination rights are usually non-refundable and non-transferable; levies are annual charges for families without an instrument. None guarantees admission.
How do you set membership and debenture prices?
We do not. Prices are agreed between seller and buyer. The references on our pages are compiled from published third-party lists and dated; we confirm live terms before any introduction.
How are you paid?
Fixed advisory fees, disclosed introduction commissions on completion, and programme coordination fees with third-party costs at cost. See fees.
Can a child travel to a programme without a parent?
Yes, with guardian supervision arranged by us and the provider’s own safeguarding in place. Minimum ages apply to instructor examinations (generally 15 or 16) and to some sailing certificates.
Do you help with visas and relocation?
We coordinate with Magellan Global’s mobility specialists for residence status and with the school for F-1 I-20 documents in the United States. AJPE itself does not give immigration advice.
Do you work in Chinese and Japanese?
Yes. Advisers work in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese.
