Terms of engagement

These terms govern the use of ajpe.com and the services of AJPE. Last updated October 2026.

1. Who we are

AJPE (Asia-Pacific Junior & Private Education) is a brand of Magellan Global. The contracting entity and its address are stated in your engagement letter. Contact details are on the contact page.

2. Nature of our services

AJPE provides educational advisory services, acts as an introducing agent in respect of private club memberships and school capital instruments, and coordinates junior programmes delivered by third-party providers. AJPE is not a school, club, licensed securities dealer, investment adviser, law firm, immigration adviser, travel agent or employment agency, and does not represent any school or club.

3. No guarantee

Admission decisions are made by schools; transfer approvals by clubs and schools; examination results by accrediting bodies. AJPE does not guarantee any admission, approval, result or price, and accepts no success fees.

4. Integrity

AJPE does not write application essays, statements or test responses on behalf of any applicant, does not provide or facilitate false information to any school or club, and will withdraw from an engagement where a family insists on either.

5. Introductions

Prices for memberships and instruments are agreed between seller and buyer. Indications published on ajpe.com are third-party references, dated and attributed, and are not offers. All transfers are subject to the issuing club’s or school’s rules, approval and fees, which are paid to them. AJPE’s commission is disclosed to both parties before introduction and is payable only on completion. AJPE does not hold instruments or client money for transactions; settlement is through the club, the school or a solicitor as they require.

6. Programmes

Programmes are delivered by independent accredited providers under their own terms, safeguarding policies and insurance. AJPE coordinates and supervises arrangements but is not the provider. Third-party costs are passed through at cost and are subject to the providers’ cancellation terms.

7. Fees and payment

Fees are set out on the fees page and in your engagement letter. Advisory fees are payable 50% on engagement and 50% at first submission; commissions on completion; coordination fees on confirmation of a programme. Fees are exclusive of third-party charges.

8. Conflicts and disclosure

AJPE accepts no payment from schools, clubs or providers for recommending them. Where a club or school pays an agent’s fee under its own policy, AJPE discloses it and credits it against its commission. Where AJPE acts for both a seller and a buyer, both are told.

9. Confidentiality and data

Information about children and families is confidential and processed under our privacy notice.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, AJPE’s aggregate liability under an engagement is limited to the fees paid to AJPE under that engagement, and AJPE is not liable for the acts or decisions of schools, clubs, providers or other third parties, or for indirect or consequential loss.

11. Termination

Either party may end an engagement on written notice; fees for work done are payable and prepaid fees for work not yet begun are refunded.

12. Governing law

The governing law and forum are stated in the engagement letter; in default, the law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
