Singapore

Deep international-school capacity, careful about who may attend.

Schools families consider

Listed for orientation. AJPE is not affiliated with, and does not represent, any school. The right list for a child is usually shorter and sometimes different.

  • Tanglin Trust School
  • UWC South East Asia (Dover and East)
  • Singapore American School
  • Dulwich College (Singapore)
  • Stamford American International School
  • Australian International School
  • Nexus International School
  • Dover Court International School

Calendar

Many schools admit on a rolling basis with waitlists by grade and nationality mix; UWCSEA runs fixed application windows a year ahead. August is the main entry point; January entry exists for the Southern-hemisphere calendar schools.

What to know

  • Singapore citizens generally need Ministry of Education approval to attend international schools; permanent residents and foreigners do not.
  • Several schools manage nationality balance or give passport priority (for example to U.S. citizens at SAS).
  • A Dependant's Pass or Student's Pass is required; timing with a parent's work pass is critical.
  • Facility and development fees are charged by many schools; none operate a Hong Kong-style secondary debenture market.

Sport and the portfolio
